I recommend using Akismet for your Drupal blog, if you're not using it already. It does a great job of filtering out spam comments, and I've been getting more and more spam comments over the past few weeks... maybe a sign that my blog's getting more popular?
I do find the whole concept of spam quite confusing. I mean, it must work for the people sending out the spam, else they wouldn't do it right? Or are they just trying to market to people like me who have to skim over the Akismet moderation queue deleting stuff? For example, I recently read a spam comments about a viagra alternative that lasts for 36 hours! Ouch!
I've been tempted to put a captcha on the comments form, but for the time being I'll stick with Akismet. Do people get put off leaving a comment if there's a captcha? The benefit of using a service like Akismet is that it works silently in the background. I've also been reading about Dries' Mollom service, I might give that a shot too.

Akismet.. spoke to soon!
Damn, the Drupal 6 version of Akismet isn't supported and is buggy. Oh well... maybe it's time to give Mollom a shot?
